THOUgHTFUL CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN
Our mission is to connect every person in need of help with people who can help. Through crowdfunding, community, advocacy, and integration with strategic partnerships, we hope to help as many people as possible.
We strongly believe that the heroes on our site who have the courage to speak up and ask for help, should receive 100% of the donations (minus credit card fees). In order to offer our service free of charge, we kindly ask for an “optional gift” from donors. The gift helps us grow our website and help more people.
Thoughtful.org makes it incredibly easy to raise money online for medical, emergency, and memorial campaigns. In a matter of minutes, you can create a campaign and share it with your family, friends, and the Thoughtful community. All donations go directly to you. There are no deadlines or limitations on how much you can raise. Watch the geting-started video for more information about starting your campaign.
Thoughtful.org is exclusively for medical, emergency, and memorial campaigns.
Once your campaign begins receiving donations, you can easily make a withdrawal. Don't worry, withdrawing money does not affect the progress bar on your campaign. To make a withdrawal, simply log into your account, click "campaign" and the blue button labeled “tracker.” Click the "withdraw" button and follow the instructions. You can withdraw directly into your bank account or request a check. Most withdrawals take between 5 and 7 business days.
Yes! You facilitate the entire campaign. You can withdraw the funds directly to your friend or request a check. This will be done via our transaction partner, WePay.com, whom you’ll create an account with in Step 3 of the campaign creation process.
No. Never. They are promted during donation checkout to make an optional gift to Thoughtful.org's operating costs, which they can easily pass on.
You’ll receive e-mail notifications each time a donation is made to your campaign.
Not a problem. You can withdraw donations at any time. Reaching your goal is NOT required.
Typically, you’ll first receive donations from family, friends, loved ones, co-workers etc… basically, the people in your life. When your campaign receives support of the people you know, you’ll begin to attract other supporters from the Thoughtful community.
Gaining the support and donations from the people in your life is what makes Thoughtful.org work so well. Without them, it's very unlikely you’ll attract the support of others.
Currently, Thoughtful is only set up to operate campaigns in the U.S. However, donations can come from anywhere. If you’re looking to bring Thoughtful.org to your country, send us a note on our "Contact us" page… We’d love to hear from you!
Yes! Donations can be received from all around the world!
We’re not tax advisers, but most donations on Thoughtful.org are simply considered “personal gifts,” which are not taxed as income in the U.S. It's always a good idea to consult with a tax professional regarding this stuff.
